Event Day Overview

On October 7th in honor of California Clean Air Day, Move LA Executive Director Eli Lipmen will ride the rails, rapid buses, and regional connections for 18 hours to demonstrate the power, reach, and vital necessity of public transportation across Greater Los Angeles.

Whether you join us for one leg, meet us at a transfer hub, or ride all day long, use this itinerary to plan where and when to hop on board!

Full Marathon Schedule:

Leg 1: Regional Commuter Rail & Foothill Transit

  • 7:38 AM | Union Station Launch

    Route: Board the Metrolink San Bernardino Line from Union Station east to Claremont Station.

  • 8:45 AM | Claremont Village Breakfast

    Location: Village Grille (148 Yale Ave, Claremont, CA)

    Activity: Breakfast stop in charming Claremont Village right off the platform.

  • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Foothill Transit & Silver Streak Connection

    Route: Foothill Transit Bus from Claremont to Pomona Transit Center → Silver Streak Express to the E Line → Transfer to the K Line toward South LA.

    Focus: Highlighting inter-agency regional connections and rapid express bus service.

Leg 2: Central LA Transit Justice Lunch & Active Transportation

  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM | Lunch with ACT-LA Transit Advocates

    Location: Los Angeles Black Worker Center (5350 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA)

    Activity: Connect with local organizers at the conclusion of ACT-LA’s Transit Justice Committee meeting! Enjoy lunch, meet fellow advocates, and collect your official event T-shirt.

  • 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM | Rail-to-Rail Bike Ride & J Line BRT South

    Route: Line 108 Bus to Denker/Slauson → Metro Bike Share along the new Rail-to-Rail corridor to Figueroa & Slauson → J Line BRT southbound to San Pedro.

    Focus: Celebrating multi-modal infrastructure, active transportation, and dedicated express bus lanes.

Leg 3: South Bay Coastal Hopping & Sunset at Dockweiler

  • 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM | Harbor Coffee Break

    Location: Sirens Java and Tea (San Pedro)

    Activity: Quick coffee refresh near the Port of Los Angeles.

  • 3:30 PM – 4:45 PM | Coastal Inter-Agency Connectors & Long Beach

    Route: LADOT Line 142 from San Pedro into Long Beach → Long Beach Transit segment around Shoreline Village or Rainbow Harbor.

  • 4:45 PM – 6:30 PM | LAX Transit Corridor to the Beach

    Route: A Line from Long Beach to Willowbrook/Rosa Parks → C Line westbound to the new LAX Transit CenterCulver City Rapid 6 / Line 115 to Dockweiler Beach.

  • 6:30 PM – 7:15 PM | Sunset & Ice Cream at Dockweiler

    Location: Dockweiler Beach / Playa Provisions

    Activity: Golden hour sunset over Santa Monica Bay paired with ice cream from Playa Provisions!

Leg 4: VIP Hollywood Dinner, Craft Beer & The Midnight Victory Lap

  • 7:15 PM – 8:30 PM | Westside to Hollywood Transit Sprint

    Route: Big Blue Bus 16 to Bergamot Station → E Line to 7th St/Metro Center → B Line up to Hollywood/Highland.

  • 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM | Transit Marathon VIP Dinner

    Location: The Historic Musso & Frank Grill (6667 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA)

    Activity: Exclusive celebratory dinner for riders who raised $250 or more!

  • 10:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Mid-City Celebration & Craft Beer

    Route: Line 212 Bus south down La Brea to All Season Brewing Company (800 S La Brea Ave).

    Activity: Post-ride drinks and reflecting on 18 hours across SoCal transit.

  • 11:30 PM – Midnight | The Midnight D Line Victory Lap

    Route: D Line heavy rail from Wilshire/La Brea back to Union Station.

    Finish: Official 12:00 AM midnight completion at Union Station!
